Origin The primal type of this species is brown, with some stripes and dots on body. I used them as cleaner in my aqua-plant tank with red cherry shrimp and some drawf fish, and have not paid much attention to them even when I saw several brightly golden baby shrimp crawling among the black grit in Feb 2005. I had not known it was the aberrant color type until they had grown up about 8mm that the whole body was still golden, without any stripes or dots. Unfortunately, there were only three male golden shrimp survived at that time. The female golden shrimp have been bred up by the end of 2005. Now they are the new menbers in my shrimp-only tank.
